Theatrical makeup and hairstyle

Chiara Sofia Drossoforidis has built a notable career in the field of theatrical and cinematic makeup and special effects. She began her artistic journey at the Liceo Artistico “F. Casorati” and continued to hone her craft at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan, where she completed a first-level course in painting and defended her thesis “On the trail of emotions” in 2016.

Pursuing a passion for special effects, Chiara attended a one-year training course at the Accademia del Teatro alla Scala in Milan. There, she developed skills in creating silicone, latex, and latex foam prostheses, which she applied to transform models into various characters such as Mr. Hyde, Giuseppe Verdi, the mummy, Charon, and Dr. Moreau. Her training enabled her to master techniques for altering facial features and creating effects like wounds, aging, and weight gain, which she utilized in short films, music videos, and theatrical productions.

In early 2020, Chiara attended the inaugural theatrical makeup and hairdressing course at Amo Academy. During this course, she was responsible for organizing the makeup team and creating makeup for the children at Collegio San Carlo in Milan for their production of "The Lion King."

Following the course, Chiara began collaborating with the Coccia Theater, where she worked on makeup and hairstyling for various operas, including "Il Barbiere di Siviglia," "La Bohème," "Madama Butterfly," and "Aida." Her work on the opera “Cassandra, in te dormiva un sogno” was particularly significant, as it required adapting makeup techniques from theatrical to cinematic formats.

Currently, Chiara coordinates the hair and makeup department at the Coccia Theater. Her continuous passion for theater and artistic skills have also led her to self-teach the creation of hairpieces, such as mustaches and wigs, which have been used in productions like "Cavalleria Rusticana" and "Aida."
