Margherita Colombo is conductor, pianist, opera coach and composer.

She graduated in Orchestral Conducting at the Conservatory “G. Verdi” Conservatory in Milan, concluding a brilliant and varied course of studies that includes the Diploma in Piano, the Two-year Academic Years for Contributing Teachers, the Diploma in Composition, the three-year course of High Piano Perfection at the Accademia Musicale Pescarese and numerous Masterclasses in Italy and abroad held by renowned Masters (including Paolo Bordoni, Aldo Ciccolini, Joaquin Achucarro, Sergio Perticaroli, Jeffrey Swan, Daniele Agiman, Umberto Finazzi).

Among the orchestras she conducted are the Gewandhausorchester of Leipzig, the Niederbayerische Philharmonie of Passau, the Loh-Orchester Sondershausen, the National Opera Orchestra of Tirana, the Puccini Festival Orchestra, the Orchestra di Ticino Musica, the Rossini Orchestra of Pesaro, the Musici di Parma, the Ettore Pozzoli Orchestra and many other orchestras and ensembles in Italy, Germany, Switzerland and Albania.

She also worked as the first permanent conductor (1. Kapellmeister) of the Landestheater Niederbayern in Bavaria from 2016 to 2019.

She has worked in numerous theaters in Italy and abroad as collaborating and substitute maestro (among others the Leipzig Opera, Nordhausen Theatre, Ticino Musica in Switzerland, Donizetti Theatre in Bergamo, Sao Carlos Theatre in Lisbon, Campobasso and Potenza Theatres, Casamari and Aslico Opera Festival).

She regularly holds courses and masterclasses for pianists, singers and conductors with particular attention to opera and the profession of collaborating maestro. Among his didactic collaborations are the Accademia dei Mestieri dell’Opera del Teatro Coccia in Novara, Salso Summer Class & Festival, Umbria Classica, Vacanze Musicali, the European Academy of Music in Erba (CO) and the E-Campus University.
