THE 2026 CALL FOR COMPOSERS LAUNCHED

For the third consecutive year, the Fondazione Teatro Coccia of Novara is launching, as part of the 14th edition of the International Conducting Competition “Guido Cantelli”, scheduled to take place from 1 to 4 October 2026, an international Call for Composers open to composers of all nationalities and with no age limits, for the creation of a symphonic work that will form an integral part of the final programme of the Competition, dedicated to the memory of the great conductor from Novara who passed away in 1956.

The selected score will be performed by the Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano during the preliminary rehearsals, which will take place in Milan (Auditorium Fondazione Cariplo) and Novara (Teatro Coccia).

The prize includes €3,000 and the publication of the work with Sconfinarte, the competition’s technical partner.

Applications are open from February 20 to June 12, 2026.
